Church Shopping

Oops, I guess I found out something....I am not Independent Baptist, mainly I found out I am Independent, and yes even the B word....but not enough to be Independent Baptist, from what I understand the head pastor is in charge. Sure that might work some places but for me, it was a NOOOOOO!!! It's the NEW part of being that I found interesting. I didn't understand that he was the authority or in this case the pass the buck to, and see if anything happens type of thing.....anyway my comfort level lacked after a church pastor handed an old church over to the church I attended. Let's just say watching how things changed hands was a bit much for me.

I then went on a missions trip and by the end of it, I knew I needed to be with my Titus 2 lady. She attends different church, and when I went I learned more in one Sunday about the Jewish culture, and decided to stay. So life goes on, my family part of it stays at the Independent church and I have left to be part of the Missionary Alliance Church. It's different, it's small, but mostly I am learning more.

Church Picking

I guess I have conformed, or become comfortable with who I am in Church. I am ahem Independent Baptist. I'll never say you need to baptised, or that God really cares what well that isn't true, He does care about denominations and that the focus is His People.

Mostly I realize how much I am loved by God. He holds my hand often as I go through the pages of my life. Moving has always been my life. With each move a new area or at least a different house.

Life goes on with my five children. My oldest is now a senior. I also have a sophmore, I don't know what grade my son is in, he should be in 7th. He's acomplished so much more than imagined in two short years, dyslexia was a hurdle that was amazing to watch him overcome, and succeed with his school work.

Baptist what's it all about anyways

Explain it to me....nope it just does't happen. The history of the Baptist Church (at least the one I attend) has taken a turn to the PURPOSE DRIVEN CHURCH. You don't hear much about the history of the church anymore. The pastor or head dude, was once Methodist so you throw that into the mix and it is a puzzlement.

I am on a search to find out.

Religion

I don't know guess it is being in my 40's and searching for who I am and where I am going. Mid life crisis, or is it just because I am at a certain church. Do I name it? Anyway, I am looking at denominations and what I am and what do I believe.

Moving is kinda a happening thing. Okay I'll say Baptist, I'll even say Independent baptist is the church I belong to. How did that happen? It's been a journey, but mostly because of moving, I ended up in this church. It's my husband's denomination but even he will say Baptist no longer exist. What does he mean by that? It seems on every corner more than I can count is a Baptist church.

So I found a woman who has been "Baptist" from the get go. YIKES man she said there are 27 different types of Baptist....Independent and Southern are the only two I know about so I guess I am looking at Baptist and roots, and where did they come from and what am I doing with them.

I guess I will be picking up this book, to know more about the history of Christianity. In the mean time I'll be looking at what an independent Baptist church is.

Another day and a new Summer

What a school year and it is gone like a blink of my eye....can't believe it!! Really I am in shock that this year is over with.... and that I have another child. Wowzers babies make time go fast...he's already 4 months, well on Thursday.

I so enjoyed today at the pool with the Veritas teens. I am tired, but feel it was time well spent.

The kids and John so enjoy the golf course and the kids want to start tennis lessons again. They'll learn how to play golf this summer....sounds like we are yuppies or something. Not really...I stay home with all five of them and I know how to stretch cash...at least I feel I do. My DH might question that.

Garage Sales online are neat. I get a bunch of things for the kids that way...and I love the bargains. It is so nice to have homeschooling for our tax dollars....what an unknown blessing this turned out to be. I have so enjoyed at least feeling like I have a full curriculum per kid. I am so busy with it and enjoy adding and learning....field trips are awesome and so is co-op.

Apologia Science NEW STUFF...COOL

Here is a blurb about the journals you can use or edit for your own use:

Apologia is now producing notebooking journals that accompany each of the elementary science books. Both Botany and Astronomy are now available. You can see samples on the Apologia website here:

These journals are beautiful spiral bound notebooks that will save you time and money. You won't have to print and keep up with your child's notebook pages, buy and maintain page protectors, or purchase and compile binders...everything that makes notebooking time-consuming and labor intensive for mom. Also, your child will adore having their own notebooking journal.

Each of the notebooking journals include:
A daily schedule for those who like to have a plan or would like their children to complete the book on their own
Templates for written narrations, the notebooking activities and experiments
Review Questions
Scripture Copywork, with both print and cursive practice
Reading lists and additional activities, projects, experiments for each lesson
An appendix with beautiful, full-color, lapbook-style Miniature Books
Field Trip Sheets to keep a record field trips
A Final Review with fifty questions the students can answer either orally or in writing to show off all they remember and know at the end of the course.

I probably should have a personal diary or scrapbook again.

So here I am blogging again....

Mostly because often on facebook I don't blog at all...I mean who wants to share their thoughts with the entire world, of course putting them on a blog, isn't secure, and anything you share on the internet is no longer private. A scary world we live in.

Take this... Yeppers I had that baby oh 11 days ago and he is out there for the world to see, he's so sweet. My daughter has his entire life on facebook almost. I don't mind.

You dont see story's on facebook It is just too public for me....right now I am going to take a nap...new baby....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
